The types of theists

The theist is a person who believes in the existence of a deity. They differ from an atheist in that they believe there is some sort of higher power, but not all have faith and many are non-religious. There are different types of beliefs held by theists, such as monotheism (belief in one God), polytheism (belief in more than one god), or pantheism (the belief that everything is divine). Some people may be spiritual without being religious; others may practice their religion regularly.

1. Monotheist

belief in one God. The word monotheist comes from two Greek words: “mono” meaning single or alone and “theos” meaning god. Monotheists believe that there is only one true God, while polytheists believe in multiple gods.

Monotheist religions are often divided into three categories: Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Islam’s founder was Muhammad who taught that the world should be united under Allah (God) as it once was before being corrupted by man’s greed and sinfulness. Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ came to earth to save humanity from their sins by dying on the cross for them – he then resurrected himself back to life after 3 days of death so he could continue his Agnostic is someone who doesn’t know if there are any supernatural beings or not. There’s no way to be sure, but the individual realizes that they may never get a definite answer and so chooses to believe in something on their own terms rather than let it affect them either way.

2. Atheist

Atheists are people who don’t believe in the existence of any gods. There is no one Atheist belief system because Atheism is a lack of belief, not active disbelief. Some atheists follow humanistic philosophies such as Freethought or Humanism; others may be agnostic or have different beliefs such as Deism or Pantheism that do not include a god.

Atheists come from all walks of life and there are many famous atheists including Albert Einstein, Jane Goodall, Carl Sagan, and Kurt Vonnegut Jr to name just a few!

3. Deist

The word “deism” is thrown around a lot in discussions of philosophy and religion. But what does it actually mean? And why do some people say that deists are atheists? This blog post will take a closer look at two different types of deism: naturalistic and non-naturalistic, so you can make your own decision about which one better suits you. We’ll also explore the history of the term to see where it came from, how it developed over time, and how thinkers have defined it since its inception. Finally, we’ll talk about some famous figures who identified as Deist (or were labeled as such) including Thomas Jefferson, John Locke, Voltaire, Benjamin Franklin, and more!

4. Polytheism

For those who are unfamiliar with polytheism, this is the belief that there are many gods and goddesses in existence. The ancient Greeks had some famous deities such as Zeus and Aphrodite. While some people don’t believe these gods were real, others worship them as if they were alive today.

5. Autotheism

Is the belief that one should worship oneself as a deity. This may sound like a joke but it actually has some philosophical and psychological roots. For example, in his work “The Ego and Its Own”, Max Stirner argues that each person’s ego (or self) is all they have in this world, and so to deny a person their own ego would be tantamount to denying them existence.

We are not born into this world with an innate sense of morality or purpose, so we must create those for ourselves from scratch by living life on our own terms. It takes courage to live authentically because when you do your true self will come out and there will always be people who disagree with you.
